Internationalisation of national innovation agencies
Seizing global opportunities

The changing global and innovation landscape means that new knowledge and innovation hubs are emerging in countries outside Europe, such as China, India and Brazil. These developments present considerable opportunities but also challenges for firms, universities and research institutes and for the national innovation systems in Europe as a whole.
There is considerable potential for innovation agencies to create added value for their partners (firms, universities and research institutes) in their internationalisation efforts, and that innovation policy plays an important role in ensuring and promoting a set up which facilitates internationalisation to the benefit of national competitiveness and prosperity.
The report of the task force describes the internationalisation efforts of the agencies, tries to explain why the potential has so far not been fully realized and recommends how to proceed.
The task force continues its valuable work in 2010.
